Respiratory Rally

Each year the American Lung Association offers Respiratory Rallies throughout the state. The Respiratory Rally is an educational conference for all individuals affected by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), their families, caregivers, friends, or anyone interested in learning more about this disease. The goals of the Rally are to provide an exchange of information that will give those affected by lung disease the tools necessary for living daily with a chronic lung disease; teach management techniques that will empower people with lung disease and their care givers to live more productive and fulfilling lives. In addition, the Rally encourages social interaction between people who share a common problem in an effort to decrease depression and feelings of isolation and provide a more optimistic view of life. The conference is a day full of inspirational messages, education, and exhibits. A continental breakfast and healthy lunch designed with the nutritional needs of the respiratory patient in mind is also included.
